Officially, Thai Airways Company, Thai Airways is based at Don Mueang International Airport and was formerly the national domestic carrier of Thailand until the airline merged to become Thai Airways International. Thai Airways is the flag airline of the country, and it operates international and domestic flights from its main hub at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The airline offers an extensive network which allows passengers to travel to international destinations including the Middle East, North America, South Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Thai has four travel cabin configurations; these are Royal First, Royal Silk, Premium Economy and Economy Class. Royal First is the highest class offered by the airline, and it features shell seats with adjustable leg and foot rests and personal telephones; Royal Silk features modern shell like design seats with LCD screens; Premium Economy cabins feature seats with angle recline, while Economy Class features comfortable recline-able seats. The airline also features in-flight entertainment and meal service for all classes.
Royal Orchid Plus, is the airline's frequent flyer programme, which gives members credit and miles straight across the Star Alliance and Thai's network. This allows Royal Orchid Plus members to earn more points, which can be redeemed for hotel stays, free flights or flight upgrades, among other great benefits from the airline and its partners.
Thai Airways has code share with several airlines including Air Canada, China Airlines, Air New Zealand, Emirates Airline, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, among many others. The airline currently covers destinations like Brussels, London, Paris, Bangkok, Barcelona, Johannesburg, Hong Kong (Hong Kong International Airport), Dubai and Milan. Thai's main competitors include Cathay Pacific Airways and Garuda Indonesia.
