Japan Airlines is one of the largest Asian airlines with a very extensive fleet, mainly of Boeing manufacture. It is a member of the oneworld™ Alliance. This has enabled it to concentrate on flying high volume, high-profit international routes whilst servicing a very wide network of other international destinations by code-sharing with partner airlines. It also runs domestic services, though these are progressively being catered for by its subsidiary low-cost airlines. Services from Singapore operate into Tokyo’s Narita airport, where onward connections to domestic and other international flights can be made. Japan Airlines Economy, Business & First ClassJapan Airlines passenger classes are First, Business (known as Executive) and Economy. First and Executive cabins on some flights to Singapore feature new “Shell” seats. The majority of Economy and all First and Executive seats have personal screens and some are fitted with the AVOD (Audio Visual On Demand) entertainment system. Passengers flying from Narita can check-in online and seats on many flights can be selected in advance. Special meals can also be ordered when booking. Japan Airlines Frequent Flyer ProgrammeJapan Airlines’ frequent flyer award is called ‘Fly On’, miles being accumulated in the JAL Mileage Bank. It has tiered Membership levels from Crystal through Sapphire and Premier to Diamond. All levels attract priority boarding on most international flights. Members rewards include upgrades and free flights. Miles can also be accrued and redeemed on oneworld™ partner flights. Presentation of the JAL Mileage Bank card at KOSE Beauty Centres in Singapore entitles the member to a 20% discount off a variety of treatments until December 2008.
