Royal Brunei Airlines was founded in 1974, and is the national carrier of the Sultanate of Brunei. One of the airlines first routes was between Brunei and Singapore, with direct flights still available between the two destinations. Passengers travelling from Singapore can also make onward flights with the airline to destinations including Surabaya, Kuala Lumpur, Perth, Bangkok and Jeddah. The airline operates code share agreements with a number of airlines including Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Dragonair. Royal Brunei Economy, Business & First ClassBusiness and Economy class seats are available on flights with the airline. Passengers in Business Class can relax in the new SkyDreamer seats, which extend up to 75 inches when they are fully reclined. On long haul flights, they may also “Dine Upon Request”, enabling food to be ordered when the traveller wishes to eat rather than at set times. Economy class on Royal Brunei Airlines was voted as the “Best Economy Class of Asia” in 2005 by Clever Reisen!, a German travel magazine. Personal entertainment systems are available through seat back screens in both classes, with a wide variety of audio and visual entertainment accessible through the SkyShow system (selected aircraft only). Royal Brunei Frequent Flyer ProgrammeThe loyalty programme run by Royal Brunei Airlines is called Royal Skies. Membership levels are Blue, Silver and Gold. Silver and Gold members have Elite status, offering additional benefits such as additional baggage allowance and airport lounge access. Gold members may also invite a guest into the airport lounge free of charge, providing they are also flying with the airline.
