Korean Air is the most important airline in South Korea, and its base is located at Incheon International Airport. Another hub is serviced by the same company, at Gimpo International Airport. The carrier offers both domestic and international flights, with destinations located in 45 different countries. Korean Air is a SkyTeam member and has Jin Air as its subsidiary.

The travel class scheme is different for Korean Air, with 4 types of First Class, 3 of Prestige (Business Class), and one Economy Class. The main difference between different types of classes is best seen in the types of seats used. The company has started to use new types of seats for First Class, now able to transform into a comfortable sleeping place, while the reclining seats are constantly replaced. The best seats are called Kosmo Suites, and they are the most expensive. The same revamping process takes place at Prestige Class and Economy Class, better seats being introduced gradually.

SKYPASS is the Korean Air’s frequent flyer programme, and the highest membership levels are Million Miler (given for one million miles travelled with them), and Morning Calm Premium, for half of the distance travelled by the same person flying with Korean Air. These statuses are given for alive, along with all their privileges.

The airline's fleet comprises of Airbus and Boeing aircraft models, which make scheduled flights to destinations including San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Cairo, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. All Nippon (ANA), Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways International are some of the airline's main competitors.
