Air Asia is a low-cost airline based in the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), Malaysia. Air Asia also has a second hub at Senai Airport in Johor Bahru near Singapore, where it operates regular services to Bangkok and many other Asian destinations. The airline operates scheduled domestic and international flights from Malaysia and is one of Asia's largest low fare airlines, along with Tiger Airways and Jetstar.

Air Asia has progressively launched value added services into the flight options, by being the first airline in Malaysia to offer the ability to check-in online and print out boarding passes.

Air Asia X is the long haul service of the airline, operating for flights greater than 4 hours from the departing city. Air Asia X offers pre-ordered full service meals and a choice of two seat types Economy and XL (A premium seat similar to other business class services).

The airline also operates affiliate services from Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Indonesia .
